Painting biennial opens in historic garden

The 10th Iranian National Biennial of Persian Painting has been launched in Iran’s capital city of Tehran.

The inauguration ceremony was held on Saturday in Negarestan Garden & Museum, a historic and cultural center that dates back to more than 200 years ago.

The octagonal lush garden is a Qajar era monument in Baharestan Square of Tehran.

In the 2016 edition of the painting event, an official attached to Iran Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry along with painting virtuosos and artists were in attendance.

The biennial that runs for a month showcases 195 artworks in various competitive sections.

The INBPP is organized under the auspices of Visual Arts Office of Iran Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry in collaboration with University of Tehran, Iranian Painters Society and the Institute for Development of Contemporary Visual Arts.
